The traditional ruler of Ile-Ife, Ooni of Ife has reacted to the fire incident which occurred at the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu’s palace late yesterday.

Recall that the Ooni of Ife had earlier been snubbed at a public event by the Lagos state traditional ruler who refused his handshake despite having shook some other persons before the Ooni extended his hand in greeting.

In reaction to the fire incident which occurred at the Oba of Lagos’ palace, the spokesperson of the Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare described the incident as a tragedy adding that the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, is not happy with the fire incident.

Recall that several persons had pointed to the little rift between the Ooni of Ife and the Oba of Lagos as the most possible explanation for the fire incident which befell the Lagos’ Oba’s palace.

According to Premium Times, the Ooni’s spokesperson further added: “We are not happy over the fact that the palace of Lagos king got burnt, we can only sympathise with the palace on the development.

“People are entitled to their own views. But what people say doesn’t mean that is the position of the palace.

“What happened is mere coincidence and should not be traced to the incident in Lagos, we send our sympathies.”
