New APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has not fled the country despite his ongoing travails with the Department of State Services (DSS), reports say.

Oshiomhole was interrogated for nine hours on Sunday by the DSS over allegations of bribery levelled against him by some APC governors who were dissatisfied by his handling of the party’s primaries across the country.

But he reportedly left the country after he was released by the secret police.

However, The Punch exclusively reported on Friday that the DSS were expecting Oshiomhole, who is still out of the country, to turn himself in for a second run of interrogation.

This led to rumours that he had fled the country, rumours that his camp has now denied.

According to TheCable, quoting an unnamed source in his camp, the former Edo State Governor proceeded on a scheduled visit to the US and would soon be back in the country.

“The APC chairman will be back on Sunday. He went to keep an already scheduled appointment in the US. There is no truth in the reports that he has fled the country, no, it is not true.

“Oshiomhole has said that he will not resign until Buhari tells him with his own mouth,” the source said.
