Oshiomole, speaking at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, recalled the fact that, over the past one year, Nigerians have been maltreated in one part of South Africa or the other.

This is the time to show commitment to our citizens and show sympathy to our loved ones.

“This can be done by boycotting South African goods and services beginning with Nigerians refusing to use MTN mobile network.

He highlighted that Nigerians in abstaining from using MTN goods and services, will send a clear message to South Africa.

We think that these steps will be appropriate message to South African government to offer satisfactory explanation.

He also stated that abstaining would not be impossible to achieve due to the fact that Nigeria has indigenous Service Providers such as GLO, 9mobile and Airtel.

“Happily, we have indigenous network such as Glo, Airtel and I believe 9Mobile is still standing by.”

Oshiomole made further suggestions that every factor which gives South Africa businesses monopoly in Nigeria, without much value to its economy, be reviewed.

“South African Airways should be stopped, its landing right should be withdrawn and should not have the right to fly any part of Nigeria until these issues are resolved.
