Oshodi-Isolo LG Continues Decontamination Of Public Health Facilities

The Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos has begun another round of its intermittent decontamination of public health facilities.

According to a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos on Wednesday, the exercise is in preparation toward the state government’s further ease of the lockdown.

The statement signed by Mr Babajide Dada, the Media Officer of the LGA, noted that sanitary workers would continue with the fumigation of public health centers in Ajibulu, Ogunlana, Shogunle, and Ayonio settlements.

It added that face masks were also distributed freely to the public in the metropolis as part of sensitization by the local government on the compulsory use of face masks.

According to the statement, Akeem Adeoye, Head of Department of Environment of the LGA, said that the fumigation of the public health centers and other public places such as public schools and market would be a continuous exercise.

Adeoye urged the public to adhere strictly to all the preventive measures against spread of coronavirus in the community as stipulated by health officials.

Yussuf Adesanya, Special Adviser on Environment in the local government emphasized that COVID-19 was real and the only way the public could complement government’s efforts was by using their face mask always, wash their hands with water and soap or use alcoholic based sanitizer,’’

Adesanya urged residents to follow stipulated guidelines and to take good care of their environment as the rainy season approaches. (NAN)
