Osinbajo decorates new IGP

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday decorated new Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba with his new rank.

The brief ceremony held at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday.

“Congratulations to the new Acting Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Force, Usman Alkali Baba, who I had the honour of decorating earlier today.

“The safety and protection of all Nigerians remains a priority of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration,” Osinbajo said in a post via his Twitter handle.

Recall that President Buhari appointed Baba as Acting IGP with immediate effect on Tuesday.

He replaced Mohammed Adamu, whose tenure had been extended by three months on February 1, 2021.

Adamu was however replaced two months after.
