A Magistrate Court in Osogbo has sentenced Sikiru Raheem and Azeezat Afeez to seven and two years in prison, respectively, for theft and burglary. The duo was arraigned before Magistrate M. A. Olatunji and charged under Sections 390(9), 249, and 412 of the Criminal Code of Osun State.
Prosecuting Counsel Oyedele Akintayo, representing the Attorney General of Osun State, charged them with breaching the peace and burglary. Magistrate Olatunji emphasized that the culprits violated state laws and were subjected to punishments as stipulated by the Criminal Code.
The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, revealed that the suspects were apprehended in different locations in Osogbo following reports of their criminal activities. The timely intervention of Amotekun personnel led to their immediate capture.

Sikiru Raheem, a 30-year-old male, was arrested for stealing a Ford Jeep worth N7,000,000 from the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo. He confessed to stealing the vehicle with the intent to sell it for N1.5 million and admitted to previous offenses of a similar nature.
Azeez Afeez, aged 20, was arrested on February 23, 2025, for committing burglary. He stole several items, including a standing fan, torchlight, TV cables, solar radio, a bag of bulbs, wires, MP3 player, and two mobile phones, with a total value estimated at N420,000. Azeez confessed to stealing the items to sell them for personal gain and admitted to previous crimes.
The Osun Amotekun Corps urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining law and order in the state. The prosecution of these offenders serves as a deterrent to others involved in criminal activities, ensuring a safer environment for all residents of Osun State.
