Otedola Donates N5 Billion Naira To “Save the Children’ Initiative in Nigeria

Femi Otedola, Nigerian and international business mogul, has donated the sum of N5 Billion to Save the Children, an initiative of the Cuppy Foundation, which was established by his daughter, Florence Otedola, popularly called DJ Cuppy.

This donation was awarded at the “Gold Gala”, an event organized by DJ Cuppy at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, on Sunday.
Tolani Otedola, who represented her Father at the event said;

“My father, Mr Femi Otedola, has been at the forefront of supporting worthy causes. It is in this spirit that he will be donating the sum of N5bn to the children of Borno, Adamawa and Katsina through Save the Children.

Cuppy Foundation, a non-governmental foundation which focuses on Children was established by Florence Otedola, AKA DJ Cuppy. The ‘Gold Gala’ served as a fundraising event towards the activities of Save the Children initiative.

Amongst the renowned guests which were present were Vice-President Yemi Osinbjao; CEO, Save the Children, UK, Kevin Watkins; Mr Femi Otedola, entrepreneur, Hajia Bola Shagaya; Ambassador Babagana Kingibe; and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo.

Senator Gabriel Suswam, Minister of State for Transport, Gbemisola Saraki; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole; Alhaji Aliko Dangote; and his daughter Hajia Halima Dangote were not left out.

While giving a speech, Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, who is a godfather to DJ Cuppy also donated a sum of N100 milllion towards Save the Children Initiative.

Dangote said,
It gives me great pleasure to be here supporting my brother, Femi. I believe we need more Nigerians to have big hearts to give back to the needy.

To Cuppy, I must congratulate you for having a big heart to visit those children in Borno. She spent about four days with them. In the light of this, I am making a donation of N100m.
