Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has maintained its position on the endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi ahead of Saturday’s presidential poll.

In a Monday statement, the group reiterated that it endorsed the Atiku/Obi ticket because of its stated commitment to restructuring of the country.

In the statement signed by spokesman of the group, Chuks Ibegbu, Ohanaeze Ndigbo warned against further postponement of the election and any act of rigging.

This is just as it called on Nigerians to come out en masse to vote for any candidate of their choice during the rescheduled February 23 Presidential and National Assembly election.

The statement read, “Our position on the presidential election has already been made known. Ohanaeze earlier endorsed the presidential candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for accepting to restructure Nigeria.

“That position is sacrosanct and in tandem with the decision of the other major ethnic nationality organisations in Nigeria viz, PANDEF, NEF, Middle Belt Forum, and Afenifere.

“Ohanaeze also warns against further shift of the elections for whatever reason. We also warn against any rigging of any type. The democratic will of Nigerians should on no account be trammeled. Votes must count this time around.”
