AWKA —  Over 23 illegal oil bunkering sites in Anambra State and equipment worth about N500 million was discovered by the joint team of Nigerian Army and Naval officials on monday.

Major General Adebayo Olaniyi, the General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, led the combined team of these two forces to various sites at Ogbakuba in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, expressed surprise at the discovery, describing it as a high level of economic sabotage.

He added that the current spate of illegal oil bunkering business in various parts of the country had continued to undermine the economy of Nigeria and vowed that the Army and other security agencies would intensify efforts  to address the ugly situation.

He finally said,“I am short of words. What is happening here is very alarming and I make bold to say that, this is at variance with the developmental agenda of Mr. President, because where oil bunkering thrives; it will continue to sabotage our economy.”

  • Since when is it a sabotage to take what belong to you, when stealing wht belongs to others is not? Who gave the Hausa/Fulani & Yoruba rogues the rithg to bunkar and loot proceeds from oil from Biafra land?
‘Nigeria’ was illegal then, but officially it is DEAD and no one is obliged to respect any criminal rule from it!
