Rauf Olaniyan, Deputy Governor of Oyo state has been denied access to participate in the Fidau prayers of  late Abiola Ajimobi, former Oyo state Governor.

Fidau is a prayer done for devout Muslims after their demise.

Olaniyan and his team were denied entry into the venue of the former Oyo Governor

This is coming after Ajimobi’s widow confronted Olaniyan who led a delegation a condolence visit on behalf of Oyo government.

The widow accused Gov Seyi Makinde and his deputy of playing cheap politics with her husband’s death.

Deputy Gov Olaniyan in his defence said his calls were unanswered but Ajimobi’s wife countered him saying he should have sent a message if he really had the intention of reaching out.

However, the deputy governor was denied access to the Fidau’s eighth day prayers for late APC Chieftain.

According to The Cable, Olaniyan’s convoy was stopped by security operatives from gaining access to the compound where the prayers were being held
