The Oyo State Government has demolished the multi-million Naira Music House of popular gospel musician Yinka Ayefele in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, South-west Nigeria on Sunday.
The Music House located at the Challenge area of Ibadan also served as the broadcast base for Fresh FM 105.9 otherwise known as Ayefele Radio.
As pictures surfaced on social media, Yinka Ayefele posted several pictures of his demolished building with the tag, “Oyo state government did at last……my pains my sweat ….So help me God”.
Unconfirmed reports revealed there was a pending matter in court regarding the status of the building while other sources revealed a demolition notice had only been issued last week despite the fact that Ayefele had sued the Oyo state government.
The popular musician who was paralyzed years ago from the waist down from an auto accident became a household name in the Nigerian gospel scene about a decade ago.
His Music House which just got demolished became influential as the base of Fresh 105.9 FM which has an active fan base within Ibadan Metropolis and beyond.

Nigerians on social media reacted to the news with shock wondering what must have happened and if there was no other way to resolve whatever issue that existed between the government and Yinka Ayefele.
Some others wondered why the government would demolish somebody’s lifelong investment and hard-work as well as an organisation that provides employment for about 150 people.
Mr. Yinka Ayefele himself had alleged that it was a political vendetta being metted against him by the Oyo State Government.

“May the almighty god destroy all supporters of apc on nairaland awon oloriburuku. I have never benefit a kobo from ayefele. In fact I hardly listen to his radio station but if this is not wickedness, tell me what it is? The stupid man stole Oyo state money to acquire several properties in the United States of America using the state funds while Oyo state is in a mess no development since 8years of his wicked administration”
According to another user, @dimexy247, “What a shame to Oyo State government, #800M property that provided job for over 150 people demolished just like that?”
