Chaos has been unleashed in Rivers state as about 8 people have been killed by some unknown gunmen.
The attack took place over the weekend at Ozochi community in Ahoada-east local government area of the state.
Eight persons including the oldest man in the community, were killed at the end of the attack.
Leadership reports that the suspected cult members invaded the community on the night of Saturday, May 28,, shooting sporadically, but could not confirm the group that carried out the heinous act, or what led to the attack.
Chairman, caretaker committee of Ahoada east local government council,Okpara Ewor, and the lawmaker representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie, had in separate statements, confirmed the incident to journalists.
The state police command has also confirmed the incident to newsmen.
