Pastor Paul Adefarasin Reports to Police Over Viral Video Allegedly Showing Him with Firearm

Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has reported to the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja following the circulation of a viral video that allegedly shows him holding a firearm during a roadside encounter in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the development on Monday through its spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who said the cleric is currently being questioned by detectives.
“No one is above the law. Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives,” Hundeyin stated via WhatsApp.
The video, which emerged on social media last week, shows Adefarasin holding a metallic object while speaking with a road user who appeared to be recording the interaction. The footage triggered widespread speculation online, with many alleging that the object was a firearm.

In response, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the incident in a statement shared on his official social media platforms. He denied wielding a weapon and said the item in question was misidentified, insisting that he neither aimed nor threatened anyone with it.
Police say investigations are underway, especially since the video also showed the pastor in an unregistered vehicle. “The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” Hundeyin added.
