Pay Me What You Owe Me, Trump Says To Iraq Over Troop Expulsion

President Donald Trump has responded to the threats issued by Iraq also who recently got the approval of its parliament also threatened to expel about 5000 US troops from Iraq in retaliation to the killing of Qassem Soliemani Iran and Iraq top military general. According to reports, President Trump has stated that except Iraq pays back the billions of dollars which was used to build the base in Iraq, US forces will be going nowhere.

Iran had also threatened to attack 32 US sites in retaliation to the death of Soliemani last week.

Trump stated that if these attacks were carried out, the US has targeted 52 Iranian sites for attacks in retaliation. According to reports, President Trump stated that he does not need the approval of the parliament to carry out those attacks.

While speaking on Air Force One on Sunday, Trump stated that except US forces exit the base in Iraq by a consensus of both countries, heavy sanctions will be placed on Iraq.

He said:

“we will charge them sanctions like they’ve never seen before ever. It’ll make Iranian sanctions look somewhat tame.”

President Trump also stated that Iraq would have to pay for the cost of the airbase if US forces were to leave Iraq. According to him, airbase cost billions of dollars to build.

He said:

“We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there.”

“It cost billions of dollars to build, long before my time. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it.”
