PDP BoT Member, Bode George, Says Sule Lamido Risks Expulsion for Flouting Party Rules
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Bode George, has warned that former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, could face expulsion from the party for breaching internal procedures.
George issued the warning during an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, monitored by DAILY POST.
He accused Lamido, a founding member of the PDP, of disregarding party protocol by skipping the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting but still showing up at the party’s headquarters on the final day to submit nomination forms.
“Lamido knows the procedure. He’s one of the founding fathers of this party. He didn’t attend the last NEC meeting. In terms of hierarchy, NEC is the next level to the national convention, and its decisions must be respected,” George said.
According to him, Lamido’s absence from the crucial meeting and subsequent late submission of forms amounted to a violation of established party norms.
“What the organisers of the convention are trying to do is ensure a seamless process. All zonal members attended the meeting except Lamido, yet he appeared at the last minute demanding a form. He must respect the rules,” George added.
The PDP chieftain emphasized that Lamido’s actions undermine the unity and discipline of the party, warning that the former governor could face sanctions if he continues to disregard internal regulations.
