PDP Destroyed Itself Over Wike’s Money – Sam Amadi
Public affairs analyst and former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Sam Amadi, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is responsible for its own decline, blaming the party’s dependence on the financial influence of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Amadi made the remarks in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, while reacting to Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah’s defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Mbah had earlier announced his defection during a state-wide broadcast, citing the need to align Enugu with the federal government for development.
Commenting on the development, Amadi said he does not blame Mbah for leaving the PDP, which, according to him, “destroyed itself by love of Wike’s money.”
“I do not blame Peter Mba for dumping @OfficialPDPNig for the @OfficialAPCNg. The PDP destroyed itself by love of Wike’s money,” Amadi wrote.
He described the APC as the “best organized and most sensible” political party in Nigeria, though he criticized its presidential candidate as “bad.”
Amadi further stated that Labour Party’s Peter Obi remains the best candidate to “save Nigeria,” but expressed uncertainty about which political platform Obi would contest under in the future.
“APC is the best organized and sensible party. But it has a bad presidential candidate. @PeterObi is the best guy to save Nigeria now. But which party now?” he added.
