The younger Dankwambo was said to have complained of being treated unfairly by the PDP, hence his move to the APC.

He was equally believed to have turned down many juicy offers to remain within the PDP fold.

His elder brother, Ibrahim Dankwambo, is seeking the PDP ticket to contest for the presidency in 2019.

According to sources, the younger Dankwambo insisted on leaving the PDP after realising that efforts to keep him within the party were not genuine but being made to avoid embarrassment to his elder brother, the state governor.
