Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and David Umahi of Ebonyi state engaged in a war of words over their alleged close relationship with President Buhari.
Inspite of the ongoing party war between PDP and APC, Umahi has been able to curry favour with President Buhari so much, he threatened to sack any aide who insults the President.
Umahi has made no pretence about his relationship with the President.
However during a meeting with Governors of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Wike cracked a joke centred around Umahi’s close relationship with the President which did not go down well with him.
The PDP governors and party members were celebrating with Wike as he had been honoured by the Ikwerre people of Rivers state, when the war of words occurred.
The party members were exchanging banters in small groups when Umahi made his entrance, Wike jokingly said “Ah! Here comes Buhari’s man”
On hearing this, party members had a hearty laughter.
This angered Umahi who asked Wike “Who is more Buhari than you? I have many of your pictures with Buhari which are not known to the public!”

The Rivers Governor was too shocked to reply to the outburst. And his silence marked the end of Buhari’s discussion as party members were quick to start conversation on other topics to stop the brewing war.
