Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another big loss as its top member in Lagos state, Hon Sulaimon Oyenuga, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Herald gathered that Oyenuga took the decision at an award night organised by the Lagos state chapter of the Performing Musicians’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in collaboration with a Lagos Mainland APC chieftain, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao Megida.

The ex-PDP politician called on all Yorubas in other parties to defect to the APC because of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who according to him, is a great leader.

He said: “With my exit from the PDP, I can assure you that the PDP is absolutely dead and dead for good. I, therefore, advised all Yoruba in that party to leave for the APC because the PDP, as a party, does not always consider the interest of Yoruba when it comes to matters of importance.”

Oyenuga was formally welcomed into the ruling party by chairman of Yaba L.C.D.A, Hon Kayode Omiyale; Lagos APC youth leader, Hon H. O. Mohammed; LGA chairman of Mainland APC, Hon Abiodun Fagba, among others.

Earlier, The Herald reported that APC said it had uncovered fake Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) allegedly manufactured in large scale by the PDP ahead of the Nov. 16, Bayelsa governorship election.

In a statement signed by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena, in Abuja on Friday, APC alleged that the fake PVCs have been code-named “Biafra Cards” by the PDP.

“We are receiving real time reports that the PDP-led government in the state is manufacturing fake Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) code-named “Biafra cards” at the Government House.”
