A philanthropist, Mr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, has donated assorted foodstuff to orphanages and leprosarium in Kwara.
Presenting the items, Adeyemi urged Nigerians to imbibe the habit of being their brother’s keepers, especially the underprivileged in the society.
Adeyemi, also the Chairman, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Contact Team (ENACT), gave the advice while presenting some food items to the inmates of Oke-Igbala ECWA Leprosarium hospital in Oke-Igbala, near Omu-Aran, Kwara.
Adeyemi, represented by Mr. Sesan Atolagbe, ENACT’s Secretary, said it was with such intervention that those categories of Nigerians would also have a sense of belonging and live comfortably.
Adeyemi, an Esie, Kwara born Aeronautic Engineer, based in California, USA, said the donation was his own little way of giving back to the society, especially to the less privileged.
The philanthropist said the donation was also part of the activities marking his 50th birthday celebration and in appreciating God’s faithfulness in his life.
According to him, no matter the positions we find ourselves we should always remember the poor, the less privileged in the society.
“It can be anybody living in such conditions.
“Caring for the poor and the underprivileged is an act of humility for they will always exist in every society.
“This token donation is my own little way of impacting on the living standard of the inmates for them to also live comfortably.
“It is also in giving glory to God for His blessings, kindness and faithfulness over the years as only Him deserve such praises and adoration,” he said.
He said the inmates should not see their present conditions as the end but to have absolute fate in God’s possible turnaround, saying “there is still brighter light at the end of the tunnel”.
Dr Oluwajoba Adegoke, the Chief Medical Director of the Leprosarium, while receiving the items, thanked Adeyemi and his team for the kind gesture.
While urging other individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture, Adegoke described the donation as very useful, timely and beneficial.
NAN reports that special prayer was earlier organized at Adeyemi’s residence in Ilorin where prayers were offered for the state and Nigeria.
