Brunei is a small country located on the island of Borneo, in 2 distinct sections surrounded by Malaysia and the South China Sea. It is also the home of an incredibly wealthy Prince who flaunts his wealth on Instagram and makes no apologies for it.
Prince Abdul Mateen might be only 26 years of age, but already has the carriage of an older monarch. He also shares photos of his insane life and adventures on his 733k follower strong Instagram account where he is known simply as Mateen.
He is one of five sons and seven daughters born to Brunei’s ruler, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
It is commonplace to look at Mateen’s page and see a game of polo, private planes, and cute, rare wild animals.
While his life is lavish and incredible, a GQ interview conducted 2 years ago, portrayed the prince as a humble and thoughtful man and he was described as “a grounded man who doesn’t like to flaunt his family’s wealth,” and is “more interested in the simple life, his passions, time with family and friends, and his other noble pursuits.”
