Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday, led other dignitaries to the burial ceremony of Pa Abraham Diri, father of Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri.
Also at the event which was held in Sampou, Kolokuma/Opukoma Local Government Area of Bayelsa were Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, VP Osinbajo’s wife, Dolapo Osinbajo and former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
Sharing photos of the event on Facebook, Jonathan said, “Today in Sampou in Kolokuma / Opukoma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, my wife and I joined the Diri family and other dignitaries to pay our final respects to Pa Abraham Diri, father of Governor of Bayelsa State.
“Pa Diri was a celebrated teacher, a retired headmaster who nurtured many across the state to greatness.
“I pray that God consoles Governor Diri and other members of the family and give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
