PHOTOS: The Senators That Moved for Buhari’s Impeachment

In response to the President’s move to expend N151, 394, 494, 335. 00 (151 Billion Naira) on a Super Tucano Fighter Jet from the US.

According to the Senate, this expenditure was unapproved and should never been done.

His impeachment drive was started at the House of Representatives level last week and had Honorable Chinda Ogundu, a Rivers PDP member representing Obio/Akpor federal constituency front and center of it.

In the Senate it was also suggested that section 18 of the 1999 constitution (amended) be implemented. This call was made by Senator Matthew Urhoghide, Lawmaker representing Edo South and was seconded by Senator Chukwukazi Utazi, representing Enugu North.

For a little more about them, here’s a little insight on both lawmakers

Senator Matthew Urhoghide


Matthew Aisagbonriodion Urhoghide, Aged 63 was born on August 8, 1955 to late Pa. Daniel
Ediagbonya Urhoghide and Mada.

The future lawmaker was born in Edo State and was a pharmacist before going into politics.

He is a Member of The PDP, and Senator representing Edo South Senatorial district.

Senator Chikwuka Utazi 

Born in 1961 in Enugu, Utazi Godfrey Chukwuka is the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District.

Senator Utazi, is a graduate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) with a law degree in 2003 before being called to the bar the next year in 2004 after completing his Law School education.
