Please Pay Siasia His Salary – Sports Minister Begs NFF

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung has urged the Nigerian Football Federation to pay up the amount it owes U-23 coach, Samson Siasia.

The Sports minister made this call on Monday while receiving the U-23 team coach who visited him in Abuja.

Siasia who paid the sports minister a visit alongside his wife, Sandra to thank the sports minister for his support to the Dream Team during the Olympics competition where the team came back with a Bronze medal also noted that his contract with the NFF has officially ended.

The Sports Minister in reaction to the unpaid salary of the U-23 team coach directed the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, who was also present at the meeting to make sure Siasia gets his dues.

He said: “Please pay him his five months’ salaries.

He further added: “They said he has resigned but he just said that his contract expired after the Olympics.”

The NFF’s Secretary-General in reply to the call said: “We have held meetings and we are waiting for the money to drop. The money is already there in our account but we need to regularize the TSA procedures before we can claim the money. We are almost through with the process. Once that is concluded, we will pay them.”
