The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested a deaconess of the Living Faith Church, Mrs. Yemi Awolola, who was recently exposed for torturing her 14-year-old house help identified as Princess.

Recall that an NGO on Saturday detailed Awolola’s alleged maltreatment of Princess, revealing that she made the young girl sleep in and drink water from the toilet.

The deaconess, who is said to be a senior staff with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), also allegedly used hot knives to inflict grave injuries on the girl’s face, buttocks, and inner thighs.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mohammed Jalige, disclosed that the suspect has been detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) and would be prosecuted at the conclusion of investigations.

“Operatives of the command have arrested the woman who allegedly tortured a 14-year-old girl believed to be her home help on Friday.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department and investigation has commenced.

“Immediately investigation is completed, she will be charged to court for prosecution,” Sunday Punch quoted Jalige as saying.

He added that Princess has been taken to the hospital for medical examinations and treatment.
