Brazilian police authorities have closed the investigation into the rape allegations against football star Neymar.
The Sao Paulo attorney general’s office cited lack of evidence as the reason for the closure.
AFP reports that the police decision will be sent to prosecutors on Tuesday, which will have 15 days to evaluate the case, and present to a judge for a final decision.
Neymar has vehemently denied allegations he raped a Brazilian woman in a Paris hotel in May.
The ugly affair, which has dominated headlines and conversations in Brazil for months, overshadowed Brazil’s preparations for the Copa America.
