Police In Benue Order Criminals To Vacate The State

The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Paul Yakadi has sounded a note of warning to criminal elements to vacate the state or prepare for a showdown with the police.

He made this known on Friday at the command’s headquarters in the state capital, Makurdi while parading some suspects apprehended for various offences in the state.

According to him, the command uncovered an illegal firearms manufacturing syndicate in Kwande Local Government Area of the state, members of which were paraded alongside 31 other suspects for other offences.

The commissioner listed some of the items recovered from the syndicate as different calibre of firearms, unfinished locally-made guns, live ammunition and cartridges.

Yakadi further said that the command recovered over 17 different calibre of firearms, 85 live ammunition and other exhibits from the suspects.

Furthermore, the commissioner said that the syndicate specialised in manufacturing and selling their finished products to criminals who come from different parts of the country to purchase the illegal goods.
