A family has been thrown into mourning following the suspected murder of their 15-year-old son, Jerome Chukwuemeka.

The incident occurred at 54 Niyi Onilare Street, off Lateef Adegboyega street, Ago-Okota, Lagos.

In the Monday incident, the victim’s father, Mr. Akunwanne Jerome, said he found his son dead with his hands tied with a rope behind him and his throat slit in their apartment.

He said he returned from work around 7 pm to find neighbours milling around and screaming in front of his compound.

Jerome said the crowd informed him of the death of his son and he went into the apartment to find Chukwuemeka on the floor in an upside-down position with his two hands tied to the back with a rope while his throat was slit.

It was learnt that Jerome reported the incident at the Ago Police Station while the body of the deceased was deposited at the morgue for autopsy.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benajamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti.
