Nigerian Policeman Dismissed for hiding a stolen cow

39-year-old Police Officer, Augustine Imumorin, a resident of Karu, has been dismissed after he was arraigned in a court in Abuja for allegedly hiding a stolen cow.

Augustine was charged by the Police with two counts; impersonation of a Public Servant and Concealment of a stolen property.

Vincent Osuji who stood for the Prosecution Counsel told the Karu Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja, that Abubakar Rabo the complainant, whose cow was stolen, filed a report at the  Karu Police station on August 18.

According to Osuji, the complainant reported that the cow got missing while his son was tendering to the cow.

Osuji also made allegations that the Defendant intentionally lent a helping hand in hiding the cow which was stolen by a certain Joseph Ijoko.

Furthermore, the Prosecuting Counsel Osuji alleged that Augustine pretended to be a Police Officer even though he had already been dismissed from the Police Force.

This is an offence which contravened the provisions of Sections 319 and 132 of the Penal code.

After the Defendant pleaded Not Guilty to the charges, Sani Mohammed who was the presiding Judge over the case adjourned the case till October 2, 2019.

The Judge admitted the sum of N100,000 to the defendant as bail providing a surety
