Officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Nassarawa state have allegedly beaten 23-year-old, King Abel Umoru to death.
According to the deceased’s sister, Abel had gone for a friend’s birthday party on Sunday the 2nd of October, when a fight broke out at around 9pm.
This prompted the manager of the event center to call Policemen from Abacha Road.
Abel, who had already decided to leave the party to avoid any problems, however still got arrested by the police.
Abel was reportedly not initially told why he was arrested by the policemen who later beat him in a bid to force him to admit to being part of those involved in the fight that broke out at the party.
The beating later resulted in his death and his body was deposited in the mortuary the next day.
