Police raid home of Sri Lanka suicide bombers, kill their father, two brothers and 12 others

No fewer than fifteen people, including the father and two brothers of the suicide bombers responsible for the Easter Sunday explosions in Sri Lanka, lost their lives on Friday.

Policemen had raided their safe house, killing Zainee Hashim, Rilwan Hashim and their father Mohamed Hashim, who have been spotted in a viral video calling for all-out war against non-believers.

Security has been beefed up in Sri Lanka following the bomb attacks on Easter Sunday, with nearly 10,000 soldiers deployed across the island to carry out searches and hunt down members of two local Islamist groups believed to have carried out the attack.

More than 100 people have also been detained, including foreigners from Syria and Egypt.
