Nigerian Police Reacts To Niger Delta Avengers’ Secession Threat

The Nigerian Police has responded to the Niger Delta Avengers’ secession threat.

Recall that the Niger Delta Avengers had issued a threat in which it disclosed it will be declaring independence for the Niger Delta region on October 1.

In reply to the threat, the Nigerian Police warned against furthering on the plan which it described as a treasonable offence.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Donald Awunah, while reacting to the development said: “I believe they (militants) know that it is a treasonable felony to declare a republic. The police and other security agencies will not allow any treasonable action to be perpetrated in any part of the country. They have been warned.”
