Police Rescue Man Locked Up, Starved By Parents In Kano

The Kano State Police Command have rescued a 32-year-old man identified as Muhammad Ahmad Aliyu who was reportedly locked up by his father and stepmother for seven years in Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

According to a source familiar with the case, Aliyu would go days without food and water. He drank his urine as a substitute.

He was allegedly locked up by his parents on the suspicion that he had started smoking and getting involved in the consumption of hard drugs.

Aliyu was rescued after a concerned neighbor alerted the police in Farawa and Human Rights Network.

Meanwhile, Herald Nigeria earlier reported that American singer, Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Cody Simpson have split after less than a year together.

The singers were together for less than a year following her split from husband Liam Hemsworth and relationship with Kaitlynn Carter.

For months the couple were seen out together and shared their love openly on social media. A source confirmed to TMZ that the two have actually been apart for the past few weeks. According to E! News, Cody initiated the break up.

Miley Cyrus confirmed their break up in an Instagram live video on Thursday night, telling fans that both she and Cody were going to “work on” themselves during their time apart.

Miley Cyrus said: “A year ago, almost to this exact date, the media tried to tell my story for me, and control my narrative, and I’m just not accepting that.

“So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up.

“It was confirmed by a ‘reliable source’ even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the individuals who are participating in it.

“But right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age.”
