A policeman in an attempt to extort N100m from a commercial motorcyclist pushed a nursing mother and her child off the bike in Ondo state.
According to the Vanguard, the police set up a roadblock on one of the major roads as is the norm and proceeded to extort money from people.
Eyewitnesses told the Vanguard that a police officer attempting to stop one of the commercial motorcyclists to collect his N100m ‘egunje’ hauled down a mother and her child while the bike was still in motion.
The mother and child had to be rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Okada riders in the town staged a peaceful protests decrying their treatment by police officers out to extort them.
