A popular Nigerian columnist, Femi Aribisala, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as an “expired drug”.

Aribasala, a pastor, made this known in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday morning.

He said, “APC is an expired drug. Nigerians now know what it means to vote against good luck.”

In a series of follow-up tweets, Aribasala added, “APC brought change but it was change from peace to restiveness; from gainful employment to job insecurity and massive unemployment; from national unity to sectarianism; from good health to medical check-ups; from life to death by herdsmen.

The challenge before the APC is to convince Nigerians that its failure of the last three and a half years is somehow tantamount to success.

APC brought change, but it was change from 1 dollar = 190 naira to one dollar = 360 naira; change from 87-naira fuel to 145-naira fuel; change from 20 tomatoes selling for 50 naira to one tomato selling for 100 naira; change from hope to despair; change from light to darkness.”

But Aribasala’s comments have attracted a deluge of reactions on social media, especially Twitter.

While many commentators agreed with the columnist, others took a swipe at him for supporting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that allegedly plundered the country.
