Prayers Answered: Peter Odemwingie makes a move to Cardiff City on three-year deal

According to WalesOnline, Cardiff City have completed a £2.5m for the Nigerian international. The player is understood to have already undergone a medical and has signed a three-year contract. He also successfully secured a work permit today.

Odemwingie attracted interested from other premiership clubs like Swansea City and Stoke, but his asking price was considered to be too high.

Odemwingie had a promising career with West Brom scoring 31 goals in 89 appearances, the player fell out of sorts when he tried to force a move to QPR during the winter transfer window.

The Nigerian becomes Mackay’s eight summer signing following the captures of Gary Medel, Stephen Caulker, Andrea Cornelius, John Brayford, Simon Moore, Kevin Theophile-Catherine and Uruguay youngster Maximiliano Amondarain.
