Premiership Is a Five Horse Race- Guardiola

Ahead of his side’s showdown against Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said that about 5 teams can win the league.

City sit at the top of the table level on points with Liverpool who are their closest rivals in terms of winning the league.

He also stated that the chasing pack which include: Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are also in the mix for winning the title.

Facing the press ahead of Monday’s game, Guardiola said: “I don’t have doubt about that. There are just two points difference between four, five or six teams. They’re all so strong,”

Guardiola also lauded the London club’s ability to keep in touch with the top teams despite not spending as much as they do.

“You see the line-up – the first 11, 12, 13 players from Tottenham for the last five or six years, Tottenham are always up there,”

“Obviously they cannot invest in players because of their incredible stadium that cost a lot of money. They’re a top side. I’ve said that from my first year here.

“They were my first defeat here and I realised how strong they are. Last season we did really well in both games, but they’ve got a good manager [Mauricio Pochettino] and good players.” Guardiola said
