Presidency Warns Ghana against attacks on Nigerians

The Nigerian Government has issued a strongly worded warning to Ghana against attacks on Nigerian citizens living in the west African country.

According to the Presidency, the Nigerian Government has been documenting rising cases and incidents of attacks against Nigerians and their businesses by authorities in Ghana.

It said the attacks against its citizens under any guise must stop immediately.

Speaking through a post on Twitter, the Nigerian Government stated that it had tried to establish cordial relations with Ghana over time through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, but it’s efforts at this has obviously been rebuffed.

The government pointed out that Nigerians have become the subject of harassment and object of ridicule by Ghanaian authorities.

“This will no longer be tolerated!” The Nigerian Government tweeted.

It however urged Nigerians living in Ghana to remain law abiding and avoid getting into self help despite the worsening conditions.
