President Buhari blames his Predecessors for Nigeria’s Woes

President Muhammadu Buhari, has continued to blame the past Administration  for the economic  challenges  facing the country today.

The president  said it is important to bring to limelight  the decisions of the past government  and how it affects us,  also to help Nigerians understand  the reasons we are having these challenges.

He made these comments  during his speech at an event held today at the presidential villa tagged,  “The Conversation :An evening  with Creative youths, ” with the theme  ” Creative youths as drivers  of the change agenda.

According  to Mr President, he said “I am going to bore you with what we met. I know I am being accused  in the papers  for passing the buck,  but passing the buck is sometimes  absolutely  necessary to remind people who take things for granted.

“When we came in, I screamed to high heavens because  I had promised alot while seeking for votes, I said where is the savings? There was no savings or infrastructure, power, rails, roads, there was none. What did we spend the money on? I was told it was on food and petrol.

“Where were the billions going? we conducted a study and found out that the oil marketers were commiting fraud on atleast  one third of what they’re importing,  which is about 25 percent of our foreign exchange. The youth must watch our elite, especially  with the condition  we found ourselves.It is unpatriotic  for anyone to pretend that there is no economic  problems.

“I have bored  you with this long explanation  because  there are things that could be hidden from you, by those that have mismanaged  the country in the last 16,17 years. ”

The occasion  was graced by dignitaries, among which were Vice President Yemi Osibanjo  and his wife Dolapo,  wife of the President ;Hajia Aisha Buhari  and some state governors.
