President Jonathan Calls For Calm As ‘Nigeria Decides’ Stretches A Bit Further

1 Min Read

Amid reports of electoral violence breaking out albeit in small amounts across different regions of the country, President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience.

Electoral violence  in Bauchi, and protests in Rivers marred what has largely been a peaceful electoral process conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the country.

Jonathan took to his Facebook page to send this message to Nigerians:

We waited patiently to vote in these elections, now I want to urge all Nigerians to also wait patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,to collate and announce results. We must ensure that we do not get involved in acts that breach our peaceful co-existence that we patriotically demonstrated during the elections. May God bless Nigeria. GEJ.
