An angry citizen has taken the axe to President Trump’s walk of fame star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Boulevard in what could best be described as a fit of rage. The man destroyed the Star set on concrete with a pickax in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that they had responded to a call by an eyewitness around 3:33 a.m about a man “going to town” on the ground in the tourist area.
The eyewitness, Paticia Cox told the LAPD that it was as if the man had made it his business to tear up the ground; she said “I thought it was work going on over there”
The LAPD later identified the man as 24 year old Austin Clay who refused to state a motive for the vandalism; he’s being held on a $20,000 bail.
Videos and photos of the vandalised walk of fame star have surfaced on the net as the area is a prime tourist spot in Hollywood. Tourists were also seen making a spectacle out of the situation.
The Hollywood Walk of fame is a side walk on the Hollywood Boulevard where gold stars are set in concrete on the sidewalk to honour celebrities and high achievers especially in the entertainment industry and sports.

Unhappy about the early morning vandalism, Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, released a statement saying the Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees.
“When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.” He said.
Apparently this is not the first time Trump’s star on the walk of fame would come under attack since he ventured into politics. In 2016, a superman impersonator on Hollywood Boulevard reported that he had seen people make obscene gestures at the walk of fame star, deface it with paint and on certain occasions allowed their dogs to defecate on it.
“People often stomp with anger on the star, others kick their heels over the star, and some spit. The last time, someone put a sticker over the star,” another witness Francisco Javier, also said.
It looks like United States citizens are in a love hate relationship with Donald Trump, many of them do not like him and many are unhappy that they cannot do anything about the fact that he’s President….just yet.
