Kano residents have come out in their numbers to protest the order of court which nullified the four newly created Emirates.

These Emirates, namely Bichi, Rano, Karaye and Gaya, were  created by the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and were named First-Class Emirs in May.

The emirates were nullified on Thursday by Justice Usman Na’Abba who ruled that the Emirates were created without recourse to due process and thereby illegal.

Residents have protested this judgement in different communities including Karaye and Gaya.

Primiumtimes reports that residents carried placards, whose contents were in Hausa, to show their grievances at the judgment.

“Leave us in our new emirate, the Karaye emirate,” one of the placards reads.

“The people of Karaye are in support of the new emirate,” another placard reads.
