There was an Outrage on social media as Twitter users blasted royals who wore what was described as a ‘racist’ brooch to the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch.

A Twitter user tweeted “Has no-one noticed the blackamoor pin that Princess Michael of Kent is wearing? Really? Meghan Markle official meets the family and is greeted by THIS?” The royal in question, Princess Michael of Kent is married to the Queen’s cousin Prince Michael.

She proudly wore the brooch on her coat as she was driven to the Buckingham Palace on Wednesday

The Blackammor is a style of artwork dating from the 18th century that is usually found in sculpture, jewellery and textiles in which black men and women are often depicted as slaves.

However, this is the first time the princess will be meeting, biracial actress Meghan Markle who is Prince Harry’s fiancée.

Markle, whose mother is black has spoken out about racism after being subjected to years of prejudice by people unaware of her heritage.

This is not the first time the Princess will make racist move.

In 2004, Princess Pushy as she is often called was accused of insulting black party guests at a New York restaurant by allegedly telling them to “go back to the colonies” in a row over noise.

She has since denied this claim.
