RAMADAN: China Bans Civil Servants, Students From Fasting

The Federal Republic of China has placed a ban on fasting for its civil servants, students and children in the mainly muslim region of the nation.

The restriction was put up on the government’s website as the Holy month of Ramadan started on Monday.

Recall that the country’s ruling party is officially atheist and has therefore restricted government employees and minors in the nation from observing fasting in Xinjiang which is the home to the more than 10 million-strong mostly Muslim Uighur minority.

The Chinese government also ordered some restaurants to stay open
