Arsenal Midfielder Aaron Ramsey has more or less confirmed that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The Welsh midfielder scored a wonder goal against Fulham on Sunday to remind Gunner fans what they would be missing.

It had been speculated that Arsenal had revoked an offer which had been on the table before.

Ramsey confirmed this stating that he thought they had an agreement but it was no longer the case.

Speaking after Wales’ game against Spain, the midfielder said: “Everything has been going great with the club – we thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that’s no longer the case.

“So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I’ll leave the rest with the club now.

“Am I disappointed? That’s a decision that they have made and things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best I can.

“That’s all I am concentrating on and giving my best for Arsenal.”

He also said that he had no plans to leave the club in January, “Would I stay for the rest of the season? Of course, yeah,” he continued.

“I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special.”

Ramsey is the longest-serving player in the Arsenal team at the moment. He broke into the team as a 17-year-old and despite a career-threatening injury inflicted by Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross, he matured into a huge asset for the team, scoring in 2 FA Cup finals and has been a dependable servant of the club.

So far this season, he has scored one goal and assisted 3 others.
