Raúl Responds to Rumours Linking Him with Ancelotti’s Job at Real Madrid

Real Madrid legend and current Castilla manager Raúl has addressed growing speculation about the possibility of replacing Carlo Ancelotti as head coach of the senior team.

With Ancelotti’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu uncertain amid reports linking him with the Brazil national team job, attention has turned to Raúl, who has been in charge of Real Madrid’s B team since 2019. The Italian manager’s contract with the club runs until 2026, but speculation continues to mount about a potential departure at the end of the season.

In an interview published by Tribal Football, Raúl remained measured in his response, stating he is content with his current role and not focused on the managerial chatter.

“I’m happy to be here; I’m in the place I want to be,” he said. “When the time comes to evaluate and when the club makes decisions — if they ever make them — we will see. For now, the most important thing is to stay calm and collected.”

Raúl also emphasized that there is still much at stake for Real Madrid this season and that speculation should take a back seat to the club’s priorities.

“There will be time to evaluate and make decisions that could affect the club and, personally, me. But I’m very calm,” he added.

A Real Madrid icon, Raúl spent 16 years at the club as a player, scoring 323 goals and providing 135 assists in 741 appearances — making him one of the most decorated figures in the club’s history.
