Reactions As Dybala Beats Ronaldo To Serie A MVP Award

Juventus playmaker, Paulo Dybala has been awarded the Serie A’s Most Valuable Player award for the just-concluded 2019/2020 season.

The 26-year-old Argentine beats 35-year-old teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo to the prestigious award after they both helped the Old Lady win a ninth straight Serie A title.

Recall that Ronaldo won the award in his first season in 2018/2019.

Also, Juventus’s new signing, Dejan Kulusevski bagged the Young Player of the Year award after an impressive season on loan at Parma.

Other award winners announced by the Lega Serie A are Best Goalkeeper – Wojciech Szczęsny (Juventus), Best Defender – Stefan de Vrij (Inter Milan), Best Midfielder – Papu (Papu Gómez), Best Striker – Ciro Immobile (Lazio).

Reacting in a tweet, Dybala wrote, “I want to thank my coaches and teammates for this award, without them it would not have been possible.”

He also thanked the club’s fans for their support and the Lega Seria A for giving him the award.

Meanwhile, the MVP award has been generating comments on social media, with many football enthusiasts arguing for and against the Lega Serie A’s choice.
