The social media space in Nigeria has gone agog following the arrest of Simon Ekpa, the self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Finland authorities arrested the popular pro-Biafra separatist agitator in his apartment in the city of Lahti on Thursday, according to reports.

He was billed to grant a newspaper interview before his arrest, it was further learnt.

Ekpa has repeatedly ordered the people of the South-East to observe a sit-at-home and boycott the general election billed for Saturday, February 25 and Saturday, March 11.

The Ebonyi indigene’s pro-Biafra rhetoric is believed to be fuelling killings in the South-East.

Many Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the arrest.
