Recession May Continue For Another 20 Years

The Ondo state Governorship aspirant, Mr Jimoh Ibrahim, in a speech delivered at a book launch in Obafemi Awolowo University said the economic situation of Nigeria may linger for the next 20 years.

Nigeria’s current economic situation is characterized by a general economic decline as a result of the fall in the value of the naria on the stock market, an increase in unemployment and a corresponding massive inflation in the market.

While the citizens have high hopes that things will get better soon enough, Mr Jimoh Ibrahim’s speech has insinuated that the situation may last longer and only a miracle can stir us out of recession.

In his words, “With the current crude oil prices and current situation of the country, except there is a miracle that will chance the situation, we may be experiencing this recession for 20 years. Our Naira has lost its value, and this is the worst recession I have seen in many years, nothing seems to be happening.”
