A group of Ogoni women has given Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike 24 hours to release manager of demolished Prodest Hotel, Eleme, Dr. Azoroh Bariledum or risk a sea of completely naked women marching on Government House, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

The women issued the ultimatum while protesting topless at the Zaakpon community, Khana Local Government Area, to demand the detained manager’s release on Tuesday.

The women expressed anger at the state government’s disclosure that Azoroh had tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to them, the manager’s continued detention and purported COVID-19 status were unacceptable.

“Our son did no wrong. He never had Coronavirus before he was arrested! and detained.

“We are suspicious and hope it’s not what we are thinking, that someone deliberately infected our son with the pandemic to prove a point that he was guilty of the allegations being leveled against him. We will not accept that,” one of the protesters said.

Recall that owner of the hotel, Promise Gogorobari in a Monday statement flayed Wike and his administration for the manager’s detention and called for his release.

He accused the State Governor and his administration of infecting Azoroh with the deadly virus.
